Watch Argo Movie In Theather

Based on true events, Argo chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis-the truth of which was unknown by the public for decades. On November 4, 1979, as the Iranian revolution reaches its boiling point, militants storm the U.S. embassy in Tehran, taking 52 Americans hostage. But, in the midst of the chaos, six Americans manage to slip away and find refuge in the home of the Canadian ambassador. Knowing it is only a matter of time before the six are found out and likely killed, a CIA "exfiltration" specialist named Tony Mendez (Ben Affleck) comes up with a risky plan to get them safely out of the country. A plan so incredible, it could only happen in the movies. -- (C) Warner Bros.

Review For Argo

Affleck himself turns in a quietly impressive movie star performance. Tony Mendez is a kind of anti-Bourne, comfortable with his anonymity, living off his wits, not his fists.
Tom Charity-CNN.com

'Argo' is one of the best movies of the year.
Richard Roeper-Richard Roeper.com

Argo has that solid, kick-the-tires feel of those studio films from the 70s that were about something but also entertained. Only it's as laugh outright amusing as it is sobering.
Lisa Kennedy-Denver Post

The movieland satire is laid on thick, but it's also deadly accurate. Schlock has never seemed so patriotic, and Arkin and Goodman have rarely been so good.
Peter Rainer-Christian Science Monitor

Argo is a rollicking yarn, easily the most cohesive and technically accomplished of Affleck's three films so far, but a part of me wishes the director hadn't cast himself in the lead role.
Dana Stevens-Slate

If nothing else, it proves that every so often, the CIA can pull something off - and that yes, Canadians are just about the nicest people on the planet.
Stephen Whitty-Newark Star-Ledger

The sky's the limit for Ben Affleck right now, and its nothing less than he deserves.
Sam Bathe-Fan The Fire

Ben Affleck's wildly entertaining thriller Argo is further proof of the old Hollywood adage that fiction is stranger than truth after all.
Jay Stone-Vancouver Sun

Affleck spins the absurd true story into an engrossing espionage thriller that would be utterly ridiculous if the stakes weren't literally life-or-death.
Norman Wilner-NOW Toronto

After Gone Baby Gone, The Town and now this directorial-best, Affleck is establishing himself as a major craftsman.
Ben Kenigsberg-Time Out Chicago

Affleck inserts such thoughtful commentary and ideas unobtrusively into his film; there's no ideological ball-peen hammer from the filmmaker to drive his beliefs into the audience.
Kirk Baird-Toledo Blade

Argo expertly builds tension and makes you wonder whether the mission will succeed.
Charles Ealy-Austin American-Statesman

There are many heroes in Ben Affleck's spunky, polished political thriller. But the biggest hero is Hollywood itself.
Peter Keough-Boston Phoenix

A strong yet uneven effort...
David Nusair-Reel Film Reviews

We are invested in this rescue mission not simply because these are fellow Americans in peril, but also because Argo takes the time to make each person behind enemy lines unique and authentic.
Jordan Hiller-Bangitout.com

An edge-of-your-seat thriller not to be forgotten at Oscar time!
Kam Williams-AALBC.com

'Argo' only clocks in at a two-hour running time and tells a much better story than the films that over-stuffed audiences with nearly three-hours.
Clay Cane-BET.com

Second billing to unabashed jingoism
S. James Wegg-JWR

This may be the most geek-friendly movie that never did the rounds at Comic-Con.
Rob Gonsalves-eFilmCritic.com

When Tony (Ben Affleck) lands in Tehran and trains the frightened Americans to play their parts as a Canadian film crew, Argo compares the ruses run by governments and movie studios.
Cynthia Fuchs-PopMatters

The whole thing is paced like a whip, and the third act may literally be the most suspenseful piece of film I've ever seen - and yes, I have seen Rear Window. Recommended without any reservation for every and any cinemagoer.
CJ Johnson-ABC Radio (Australia)

A terrific supporting cast, especially the non A-list actors, make the dramatic license taken justified and redeem Affleck for miscasting himself in the hero's role.
Bruce Bennett-Spectrum (St. George, Utah)

A brilliant thriller that's based on a historical incident, 'Argo' is one of the best films of 2012.
Linda Cook-Quad City Times (Davenport, IA)

A wonderfully lively and engrossing movie ...
Philip French-Observer [UK]

An enthralling and deliciously entertaining movie -- and a deserved triumph for its star and director.

Watch The Hunger Games Movie In Theather

Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which "Tributes" must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she's ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love. -- (C) Lionsgate

Review For The Hunger Games

Even when two people are just talking calmly, Ross jerks the camera around. Why? As the sense of danger increases, he has nothing to build toward.
David Denby-New Yorker

Gary Ross, who directed Seabiscuit, manages to get this nag out of the starting gate and across the finish line with no major blunders, but without much in the way of inspiration, either.
Roger Moore-McClatchy-Tribune News Service

Ross manages to keep the pacing remarkably swift, given that the games themselves don't start until halfway through the 144-minute running time.
Peter Rainer-Christian Science Monitor

Like the select participants of its savage sport, The Hunger Games stands triumphant, if scarred and a bit wobbly from the contest.
Scott Bowles-USA Today

It features a functioning creative imagination and lots of honest-to-goodness acting by its star, Jennifer Lawrence, who brings her usual toughness and emotional transparency to the archer-heroine Katniss.
Amy Biancolli-San Francisco Chronicle

Watching The Hunger Games, I was struck both by how slickly Ross hit his marks and how many opportunities he was missing to take the film to the next level -- to make it more shocking, lyrical, crazy, daring.
David Edelstein-New York Magazine

Given the recent failure of so many big-budget films, the odds weren't in The Hunger Games favor, either. Thankfully, Hollywood got this one right.
Kirk Baird-Toledo Blade

The supporting cast is excellent (most notably Stanley Tucci as flamboyant television host Caesar Flickerman, and Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy, Katniss and Peeta's troubled mentor).
Tracie Cooper-TV Guide's Movie Guide

There's no doubt that there are lots of elements here that have been seen before but this still manages to carve enough of an identity for itself to be intriguing, exciting and - on the odd occasion - compelling.
Laurence Boyce-The Sabotage Times

Some plot threads are underserved but The Hunger Games is a fascinating and disturbing character drama that successfully captures the core themes of the book.
Ben Kendrick-ScreenRant

The Blu-Ray disc will impress the fans with its flawless audio track and serviceable video transfer.
Jeremy Lebens-We Got This Covered

Sure this entry is a ripoff of "Battle Royale," but it's still an entertaining ride with great casting that will more than likely please fans of the book and those who've never even heard of it.
Jeff Beck-Examiner.com

Despite a few minor problems, The Hunger Games proves to be a promising start to what will no doubt become the next beloved Hollywood mega-series.
Kristal Cooper-We Got This Covered

While the 12A rating renders any serious violence a tad impotent, there is much more going on here than the fawning and frowning of its soppy vampire peer.
Matt Looker-TheShiznit.co.uk

A retread of a tale that's The Running Man meets Lord of the Flies with a dash of Twilight for tween-adoring measure.
Erick Weber-NECN

I never thought I'd describe a film by Pleasantville and Seabiscuit director Gary Ross as 'whackadoodle,' but if the shoe fits.
William Bibbiani-CraveOnline

The Hunger Games may be a flawed beast, to be sure, but there's plenty of subtext to glean from the narrative, and a slew of wonderfully rich characters worth investing in.
R. L. Shaffer-IGN DVD

The new Twilight? We don't think so. This is much better . . .
James O'Ehley-Sci-Fi Movie Page

While a great ride of a movie, it is also one wrapped around an oddly disquieting message.
Richard Knight-Knight at the Movies

The first genuine can't miss film of the year that you'll want to go back to the theater to see over and over again.
Jeffrey Lyles-Lyles' Movie Files

Katniss embodies all that's better than her Hunger Games opponents, being aptly appalled at what she sees while also learning to manipulate her audience.
Cynthia Fuchs-PopMatters

The Hunger Games stomps the Twilight saga flat, and though I found those films somewhat amusing, this one is the real deal...
Rob Gonsalves-eFilmCritic.com

... Does a more-than-adequate job of introducing a future world and characters I won't mind revisiting. And it gives you a little to think about while you're waiting.
Greg Maki-Star-Democrat (Easton, MD)

A blockbuster that has something to say about the world we could be living in. Unlike Twilight, this film actually has a deeper and more important philosophical meaning.
Wesley Lovell-Cinema Sight

The phenomenal cast with great chemistry and sincere authentic performances from the older actors empowers the material.
Blake Howard-2UE That Movie Show

Here's the movie for which millions of fans have been starving.

Cloud Atlas explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future. Each member of the ensemble appears in multiple roles as the stories move through time. -- (C) Warner Bros. R

Review For Cloud Atlas

They key to successfully absorbing the movie may be in not trying to overthink what's on screen.
James Berardinelli-ReelViews

An eminently peculiar mismatch of substance and form, like a Hallmark card written by David Foster Wallace.
Christopher Orr-The Atlantic

The result is maddening, exasperating, occasionally exhilarating -- and mostly boring.
Peter Rainer-Christian Science Monitor

For all the spectacular settings and visionary designs, Cloud Atlas left me feeling disconnected
Peter Travers-Rolling Stone

Felicitous moments can't break through the dark nebula of self-importance around Cloud Atlas ...
Liam Lacey-Globe and Mail

Sumptuous visuals and audacious acting, but the quasi-profound message of cosmic connectedness isn't worth all the trouble.
Rafer Guzman-Newsday

It delivers a mixed message: Like the Wachowskis' previous films (yes, even 'Speed Racer'), it's about people fighting to free themselves from conspiratorial systems of control; yet the 'uplifting' hooey about destiny suggests we're just pawns, after all.
John Beifuss-Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN)

A genuine one of a kind film. Courageous filmmaking that proves cinema can still provoke wonderment and reflection.
Cameron Williams-The Popcorn Junkie

Might as well embrace the timeline where, in fact, films of this ambition are still being made, still being presented to that audience quite desperate for respite from a slew of remakes, sequels, re-imaginings and the like.
Jason Gorber-Twitch

Cloud Atlas is never boring; I checked the time at one point, saw that we had about an hour to go, and settled back, relaxed and happy to get more.
Rob Gonsalves-eFilmCritic.com

With 'Cloud Atlas' you'll play connect the dots, and potentially feel like a kid, remembering what it is like to be amazed at what you are seeing on the big screen.
Jeff Bayer-The Scorecard Review

Like Babel stretched through time, though its character connections are merely assumed.
Matthew Sorrento-Film International

It is hard to think of another film in recent memory in which the accumulation of so much talent has rendered so little.
Kenneth R. Morefield-Christianity Today

Cloud Atlas, for the most part, comes off as a tedious slog through six hopelessly uninvolving storylines...
David Nusair-Reel Film Reviews

A sprawling, visionary film that, despite its behemoth length and choppy narrative, can be appreciated for its ambition and visual splendor even as it defies explanation.
Bruce Bennett-Spectrum (St. George, Utah)

Lacking in coherence, as it tries but fails to juggle six distinct stories through different time periods that cover five centuries.
Dennis Schwartz-Ozus' World Movie Reviews

Overall though, it is a hugely ambitious and impressive undertaking, the mere attempt of which should be applauded, let alone the lengths at which the Wachowskis et Tykwer actually achieve this vision.
Matt Looker-TheShiznit.co.uk

It's entirely possible to enjoy Cloud Atlas solely for its spectacular visuals and grandiose play-acting.
Kelly Vance-East Bay Express

A stunning romantic-philosophical spectacle with a spectacular cast. Sadly, an undeserving box office flop in the U.S.
Fr. Chris Carpenter-Movie Dearest

The very size of the film and its narrative ambitions have a way of keeping us just at arm's length, as if we are meant to appreciate its vastness without getting fully lost in it.
James Kendrick-Q Network Film Desk

A rare example of cinematic art.

Richard Knight-Knight at the Movies

If this is moviemaking and not filmmaking, I say let's have more movies and less films.
Ken Hanke-Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC)

If there is a fault to be found with this film, it's that it wants to be about everything. But if it was any less than that, it wouldn't be this film.
Widgett Walls-Needcoffee.com

But for an unnecessary insistence on reinforcing its own themes and motifs, this might have been a great film. I'm still pleased it exists at all.
Rob Humanick-Projection Booth

Mash-up works best if you don't take it too seriously
Marty Mapes-Movie Habit

An epic in bite-sized chunks
Robert Denerstein-Movie Habit

Cloud Atlas explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future. Each member of the ensemble appears in multiple roles as the stories move through time. -- (C) Warner Bros. R

Richard Knight-Knight at the Movies

If this is moviemaking and not filmmaking, I say let's have more movies and less films.
Ken Hanke-Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC)

If there is a fault to be found with this film, it's that it wants to be about everything. But if it was any less than that, it wouldn't be this film.
Widgett Walls-Needcoffee.com

But for an unnecessary insistence on reinforcing its own themes and motifs, this might have been a great film. I'm still pleased it exists at all.
Rob Humanick-Projection Booth

Mash-up works best if you don't take it too seriously
Marty Mapes-Movie Habit

An epic in bite-sized chunks
